Default Using Google Earth

I just starting using Google Earth and find it very enjoyable. Have spent time getting the pilots view of places I've been using the tilt down function. Just wondering if any of you have compared Google's low altitude view to airport you regularly use? Would it be a viaable tool to take a peak at strips that you are planning on visiting for the first time for orientation to terrain?

Google earth is amazing.

The detail available in some locations is stunning. Ive used it like you to fly to places Ive been.
Great fun and could be a usefull aid for flight planning.

I visited this one several years ago while hiding from a hurricane in Bahia San Francisquito in sailboat.

Quite a 12 mile car ride to get there.

Quite a few fields that may not even be on the charts. I don't fly but interest is there.
