F4D Skyray 'trimmers'?
In the off-chance maybe someone is familiar with the old Skyray, I'm trying to find some info on how the 'trimmers' actually functioned. I don't know if any other plane ever had them. I'm building a 'scale' model and wanted to include them for authenticity-even if they're not terribly useful-like the the spring driven LE slats they had. Any help out there? Bill

RE: F4D Skyray 'trimmers'?
Thanks guys, I've seen the site, Mark; and I have the Air and Space mag 'King of Climb'-which is the one you are referring to Taildragger, I think. The info doesn't really tell me which way they move to pitch the plane. On the one hand, I'd guess moving them up would pitch the nose up, and vice versa. But given their wierd shape, the opposite may be true. The few web photos, seem to show them more or less neutral in level flight. It looks like the photo in the mag of the carrier t/o shows them pointing upwards-acting like elevators.
