Can't say from that view... I saw a vid of a guy who had to stand on the brakes (and tipped over the way this guy did) because someone taxi'd in front of him without looking.
Tough to say whether the pilot was an idiot or a hero (by not slicing someone up with his prop).
It sure would be nice to know what really happened in this picture, though. I hope that the pilot got out OK and that the plane didn't flip over on its back after this was taken.
Just my $.02

RV7a with full flaps so it was landing. I bet the nose wheel castor broke loosing the front wheel, so when the nose gear came down( with wheel missing), pole vault. Vans has a service letter to modify it so it wont break. I will say they look pretty calm in the cockpit.

look like the tail dragger version. with that, and without being there it's hard to say what happended. Could have tried a wheel landing on the grass, not a good idea, could have just stood on the brakes and tad too hard, those group loopers can nose over pretty quick, again look like a grass feild. Could have been avoiding some jerk taxing in from of him.

It is a standard nose dragger configuration, the nose gear failed on the landing roll out and the airplane did end up completely on its back. This happened some time in 2007 IIRC. I was never fond of that style nosegear, it just looks like a failure waiting to happen.

The RV6A nose gear has very little ground clearance on the nut that holds the yoke to the gear leg. This guy landed hard in a flat attitude and the nut dug into the turf flipping the plane. This is a common accident for RV trikes even on asphalt. Van's now has a revised yoke that gives more ground clearance but it is mostly a pilot error problem as it is easy to hold the nose wheel off landing a RV. Don
