I’ve been an AMA member for the last 20+ years and all the sudden about 3 years ago I quit receiving my AMA membership card, I have sent emails to everyone that has an email address at the AMA head quarters and called numerous times, I have been told its in the mail or we will send it out today and I never get it, I do receive Model Aviation without a hitch.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how you resolved it?

Have not had your issue-in fact just the opposite-left my card at a flying site that I was visiting, called the CD and he could not locate for me, called AMA and with in four days had my replacement card in my mailbox-I spoke to a woman at Muncie and I do not remember her name but she worked in membership services -Good Luck

Some guys in my club were having a delay getting theirs and said it was because the AMA is using a 3rd party to process the heavy load of later, NOT late, renewals. I did mine online last month and got my card in 2 weeks. Hope yours comes soon for you...

I understand sending out cards is outsourced. Some years ago, I had a problem with not receiving a card. After a couple of phone calls and a letter or two, I got my card. Included was another member's card. Fortunately I was able to locate the member and forward the card. Membership is the premier area of the AMA which should operate flawlessly with high efficiency. It is the first area a new member encounters, and one we deal with every year. A failure of membership function leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. I suspect membership problems cost us a few members each year.

Last year I had a problem getting my card, I renewed all of my families memberships online and a few weeks later 2 of 3 cards showed up of course the one that did not show up was mine. I sent off an email to members services saying that I had only received two of three membership cards and asked if they could send mine. Within a week a membership card arrived for my wife, she already had hers so another email and a week or two passes finally my card arrived.
It does seem that there new system has a few bugs.

Don't know if this is relevant?
Some "newbies," and "short timers," try, with success I might add, to acquire older card numbers that are lower than what they may have.
My number isn't low by any standards, but I almost lost it that way. It had expired for a bit. When I renewed, I was told another member had it.
Yes, I managed to get it back.
Go figure, status in an AMA number.
Here's my number.
Well, it's on my rudder. Couldn't place the photo?

I had a similar problem, as have been (on and off) a member since the 1960's. My latest employer said he would take care of everything. And only poor situation was that had to read the monthly magazine at work instead of home.
Still flyin' and still scraping the ground on loops.

I occasionally leave my card at the field or at an event and have always gotten a replacement card withing a week or two of calling. Have never failed to get my new card each year.
I would call (as you mentioned) and not email...you never know when a spam filter might take you out.

Looks like I,m going to have to wait for my card to get here to see what color it is. You know your board when the only thing you have to do is wonder what color your next AMA card will be.
