Default how to become a cd

A bunch of us guys from around the nation that fly the twist airplane all want to get together to meet and fly.
We picked a central location. But when I contacted the local club they said we would need to make it a santioned event with a CD.
I need some info on just how to become a cd to put this together

Contact AMA it is real easy. Just a little information and your name and you probably have the job.

The test is pretty simple and all open book.

All the information required is on the AMA documents section. When I applied for my CD, I looked at the test, and downloaded the documents based on the questions listed on the test. The test is designed to make you look at most all the documents. I took at 3" ring binder and put all the documents there.

That is the book we are referring to.

Can I ask what is the selected location? I see that you are in MO, I could offer a nice flying site in KS and I could do the CD duties for you. Look up the Milford RCers site on the AMA website. Zip code 66441

Raf, thats exactly what I did too.

Look at the AMA docs page and the magazine with the safety code.

Pick a different club to meet at,
one that dont make up its own 'need' to sanction
something that could just be done as a bunch of club guest AMA pilots
showing up on the same day

Congratulations on wanting to become an AMA Contest Director. However when you first joined AMA, do you remember the bag-of-marbles they gave you? You were supposed to throw one marble away each time you attended a Flying Event. Did you forget that? That is too bad because the program is that once you lose all your marbles, they make you a CD!!!!!!

Well, not really that way! Being a CD clearly illustrates that you have a special interest in the sport-hobby, one to make it better for everyone, not just your own personal interests. That is a great characteristic to have.
As Rafel pointed out, the so called "test" simply points out that AMA Has a large amount of written rules-instructions-information, etc., etc. that apply in so many different cases that very few members are aware of or know where to look for the info. A good CD will research and find that which applies to whatever he needs.

Best of luck to you from one that has done such for 48 years, last one being 3 weeks ago.
