You ought to try and sign in to an event and write a word down for your number. That always screws them up.

mine is JETCAT. Before that it was 6285.

when my son started flying we asked if he could have my dad's old number which was 62858. Thought it was pretty cool when teh card showed up and he had his grandfather's original number.

mine is 22547. I got it in 1958. Had a slightly lower number before but one year I didn't have the money to renew it and when I rejoined they gave me a new one. It really means nothing as a friend and flying buddy at his request asked for and got a lower number when he joined then I had for all of those years. So asking an origional number is no way to show your years in the AMA.
Incidentally my mentor when i was a kid,many years ago, had number 106.
