Bill
So anything ever mentioned in MA is suitable for a thread in this forum?? Previously it seemed that Ken was pretty tight about threads here having to do directly with the AMA as an organization. But it seems that is no longer the case.
do you just not read SO4Ms posts or sumthin??

orig: ScaleOnly4Me

Geeze guys,, why so off topic and sarcastic??,

Why is it so hard to answer a simple question, does AMA have any guidelines or recommendations on Electric charge stations for clubs? Gotta be something in that Rag they send us every month. No?
Bill, if you dont want to take part in a particular discussion,
you could always just.. you know... simply not take part in it.
Just because I dont like avacados dont mean I have to stop other folks from eating them,
just as you dont need to play Jr Moderator and try to shut down discussions you unilaterally judge here.

Bill, if it ires you so much,
why didnt you just shoot a PM to RCKen, or use the lil REPORT widget on the thread
(you know, actually doing something about the problem you perceive)
rather than just griping at folks having a civil talk trying to point a guy at what other AMA clubs/members did (and stayed within AMA restrictions)

This isnt about 'How can I do this?'
its about "How can my AMA club do this in a way AMA wont have a problem with it?'

Ok I'll try.

- We are an AMA chartered club, so my main point was to see if anyone(read chartered club vice non chartered club) had issues or guideline experience with installing a power system. Mainly worried about insurance/ safety issues. I am the President of the club so these are issues that concern me.
- I wanted answers/advice from AMA chartered clubs, because of reasons above. Thought about putting it in the battery section, but thought it fit here better.

Appreciate the answers/advice from you all. We are having a BOD tonight to discuss this issue, I will keep you up to date. Sorry it offended you.

Mark

check our website for largo flying club in largo fl.we installed a solar power charging station and I would say its a quaqlified success,It has well and we will add a second set of panels so the postioning catches most of sun using 2 directions.it beats the heck out of using a car as the charger.unlike a gas generator the sun is free.but if you want a gas generator look into propane.I have a generator for my house and rather than using gasoline I use propane as my energy source as it lasts much longer and is cleaner.sadly it doesnt help abate noise..but checkout our club andagain it is a worthwhile project.
