Received notices of NOTAMS from AMA for this weekend in Florida.

Obama is having a "bus tour" and it is shutting down RC for about half the state this weekend.

I appreciate the AMA letting me know what a PITA this election campaign will be in swing states like Florida.

Now just what is the danger of a RC plane to a "bus tour"??????? I know that the AMA cannot help what the FAA issues as NOTAMS just venting.

Presidential travel can be a pain. But so can thier vacations. Bush spent 490 days at the Crawford ranch while he was president. The only problem is that the TFR around the ranch interferred with DFW arrivals coming in over Glen Rose( JEN) . Guess who had the honor of rerouting thousands of aircarft around the ranch. Yours truly. At least your problem will not last 490 days. So be glad it wasn't worse.

Thankfully when whatisface is in Chicago the NOTAM doesnt affect our flying area, We are far enough away.

I wonder how these NOTAMS would work if Golf was attached to them?
It would be horrible if a stray golf ball flew wild out over a highway, hitting a bus mirror, ricocheting into the little open window
and knocking the driver out.

i would still fly, we fly in such a remote area that the airport doesnt even know we exist.......he's not the only "important" person that travels

This Saturday is the first AMA sanctioned event to be cancelled that I am aware of because of the FAA restrictions. Bay City Flyers was to have a Golden Era fly-in on Saturday, after all the club planning, money spent and many peoples plans it is all going down the tubes. I suspect that being we are this close to elections, many more events here in Florida and around the country will be affected by those idiots. 30 mile radius for RC planes? way, way overkill.

I could dodge the bus just like I dodge United, Southwest or any of the rest of them!!!!

Oh and for those in Florida, the awesome Graves swapmeet is Saturday in Orlando. At least that part of the hobby is not shut down.
