The ignore feature is probably saving me a few hours a week now that has been directed to actual modeling endeavors. Wish I would have done it a year ago.
I've taken all my questions and concerns direct to the AMA.

Mike

Concur and checked that already - none of AMA addresses are on their black list. Again, I get all their sponsored content trying to sell me stuff, all the updates from questions answered, only the government affairs stuff doesn't show up.

You can't possibly think there are no exceptions to laws currently on the books right? In general. Right? Here, I'll toss you a bone, but no more than one. Can a police officer exceed a posted speed limit?
The comment about exceptions to law / rule was made on an RC site, in a forum discussing the special rule for model aircraft language in a proposed bill, so why wouldn't that comment have been referring to model aircraft / model aircraft CBOs?

I've yet to find any private dues collecting organization who's members are permitted to do things on public highways, waterways, or airspace that the unwashed masses (non-CBO members) are not.

It's a conspiracy I'm sure.... just kidding. Weird happenings for sure. Yesterday I get the same e-mail at an e-mail account I don't use with them, it's not on record that I can see, yet somehow for the first time this e-mail pops up there. Cookie tracking, I have no idea.

Yes, it is sad we don't have a organization like the NRA working for our dues money.

We do, we just don't have > 4 million members pay dues.

The NRA's annual budget hovers around $250,000 million, in 2014 AMA budget was less than about $15 million.
The NRA boasted of 4.5 million members in 2014, in 2015 the AMA noted membership of 180,000.
The NRA budgets about $5 millions dollars a year solely for lobbying efforts. When the AMA set aside $250,000 for educational and lobbying efforts, there was outrage by some members.
When the AMA dues were increased slightly after 10 plus years of no dues increases, there was outrage by some members.
If we want to be on par with the NRA, it either means more members, or higher dues. With the average age of AMA members in the 55 plus range, and a membership that doesn't want their dues being raised, how can we get to the level of the NRA?

Who else other than the AMA is working on our behalf?

This hit my mailbox today, did you get it?

Looks like they are addressing the concerns regarding the change in membership renewal dates.

I change to a completely different email address and now "Voila" I'm getting the "special offers" AND the other stuff. Ironic, if any server spam filters were working on incoming email, you'd think the special offers would be filtered out. But oh well.

Yes, I did write to both my Senators expressing my opinion on the legislation.
