LoL...but in the to deflect you might have glossed over the fact that we did give out cash prizes, actually the pilots also got a gift bag at the time of sign in. Not that our events are invite only as has been noted, or host international pilots, or are competitive...but why bother comparing apples to apples when a point is to be made right? But no worries, no apology or mea culpa needed, would you like to move on to the food we served, or the standing room only issue, or stick with the thread topic?
Porcia,

I didn't gloss anything. You didn't say you gave cash prizes.

Also, You, NOT Mike, are the one that started the talk about $$. Mike made ONE comment about $$ , you continue to do so in spite of the fact you say $$ are not important to your enjoyment or "success" of a given event.

Getting dizzier all the time!

Reaching a bit now....I didn't say they wanted to fly during the event, you're reading a tad to much into my comments. I guess I have to list our daily agenda, including the awards and prizes so that everything is laid out crystal clear. They wanted to fly after the event, which ended at 4. Not sure were you imagined the that our event was all foamies and MRs, I never said that. There were some foamies there (I know, the horror of it all!), but good old fashion balsa and 'glass ruled the day. Two giant scale P-51's doing a demo flight with a ME109 on their tails was a hit, as were two freesytle IMAC guys, and the crowds loved the Trojan men..lol. Sunday we were down to two of them, which made the demos far easier to do, as would be expected. Now that you mention it, one of the guys who joined the AMA and our club to fly MR/Drones put a FPV camera in the cockpit of the last T-28, then hooked up the feed to a monitor in our spectator area. It was standing room only around that monitor as the crowd got to see a pretty interesting perspective! They loved it!

LoL, you're funny! Not defensive, just had to correct obvious errors. But come out this way next year to our giant scale MR and Foamy fest....standing room only, cash prizes !

Now that I say that..I do wonder if these creatures are going to start getting bigger and bigger. Next up, a giant scale MR SIG! Chances are Amazon is already working on that.

No thanks.

BTW, since you are so hung up on the $$, why didn't you mention that you gave cash prizes away?

I'm not hung up on cash prizes, just thought it was funny that Mike would mock a drone event having cash prizes, but remain utterly silent when faced with "traditional" ones having them as well. Just another in a long line of double standards. Next year I'll post our events daily schedule including the awards so you can see how it goes. I forgot to mention we were visited by a local police officer too...he wants his 14 year old son to join! Can't wait!

for the record, Mike made one comment about the $ at drone events, you picked that ONE comment and have used it multiple times as a "zinger" at Mike, it's just how you roll.

That is untrue. He DID respond and tried to put some perspective on his original comment. His remark was more about the apparent lack of attendance at a, "National Championship" and you chose to focus on the $$ thing. That would be YOUR deflection tactic.

Don't bother, that's just more of your deflection and spin. I am sure it is clear to the others reading here, that I could care less about what kind of hot dogs you serve, but you just use that to sensationalize and deflect. Talk about drama!

Caution, we've entered the no spin zone... guaranteed to not cause dizziness. : ) Another great thing to come out of the event was having a family return after having visited our electric event. They went and signed up the kids with the AMA, and now want some help learning to fly. 10 year old boy, 14 year old girl..talk about a rare opportunity!!!! We put them up on a giant scale glider (after the event) and they did a great job. Hopefully we can get these folks fully integrated and involved, and maybe even be some dues paying members!

That is all great stuff!

But I am still confused (and a bit dizzy) as to how that pertains to FPV & part 101 or the topic at hand? Kinda out in left field, no? Deflection from the topic we are discussing?

Seems like that might belong in its own thread in this forum: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/even...airplanes-100/
