Default October 11 TFRs

Today's Federal Aviation Administration (USA)
TFRs appear to mandate some sort of training
sessions for pilots around Washington DC, that
specifically includes model fliers. Would any
AMA folks like to comment here about this?

Link?

Best place to ask for AMA response and guidance is going to be the AMA site and blog, I don't think the AMA has reps here speaking on their behalf. Would have to guess the training sessions involve specific direction regarding the DC area.

AMA page shows a NOTAM for NC as of this morning.

It looks like the FAA rescinded the three offending
TFRs and issued replacement TFRs with the references
to models and and UAS to comply with the existing
UAS TFR. This means nothing new will be in effect
for the Washington DC area.

I wonder if it was the AMA working with the FAA
that brought this reversal. I hope so. It is one
of the reasons why we have the AMA.

I would hope so. And if they did have a part in that change, I would think they would notify the membership of that as well. They were the only reason the fields in the DC area were reopened again. They should promote the successes they have.

Thanks Jenny, I'll take a look through them and talk to Chad and see if there's any area of concern. Though that isn't my district I have plenty of friends up there from my Navy days

In speaking with Chad it appears they are proactively clamping things down around the city due to all the VIP movement activity expected with the elections.
