Default Running for or Running from

People that are nominated for a office are they running for or from the office. With all the flaque in the air is it safe, and will they do and can they do the job? What a question! Most people climb on the train and ride to the end! Others may try to fix the track on the way. What are we wanting and who can do the job.

HI RC OUTLAW My needs are simple and the AMA has given me a way to get cheap insurance, a fairly informative magazine with contest info and some occasional technical info to improve my game. The men who worked to set this huge organization up did a great job, so good, that the difficult and creative work has largely been done already. The "right guy" for the job of leading the AMA should be someone who can protect our frequencies and keep the cost of membership at a level that the average guy can easily afford. If need be, we need a guy who is not afraid to cut loose any FAT or parasitic drag that this organism has developed over the years, all organizations tend to gain unneeded weight as they get older. There is a huge difference between wants and needs and the people who we trust with our money need to know so.

The "right guy" is Dave Mathewson. Vote for Dave. He will get the job done.

like any other politician

1st rule tell the people what they want to hear, when they want to hear it. then deny it later
remember, "read my lips"

Sure would be nice if you permit this election be a clean one, because I have heard is that is what ALL of the candidates want.

For your edification, there is a recent record of Bill "telling" us things we would want to hear pretty much when we wanted to hear them. Go read the "AMA Safety and Accident Prevention Program" thread for a refresher if you need to.

Don't think I have heard Dave Mathewson OR Dave Brown tell us what we wanted to hear. In fact, I am pretty sure Dave Brown has been telling us things we DIDN'T want to hear.

Besides,

If there was something wrong with the org. and it took a "painful" couple of steps to fix it, wouldn't you want to hear it from the candidates, even if it was something you ultimately did not want to hear. I personally would rather have someone who came right out and took a stance, not standing back and being p.c. about an issue.

JB, me permit the election to be clean, I have no more control over that than you do.
Maybe the reason YOU haven't heard from the other two is they Don't have anything to say other than rhetoric.

I must have missed something. I can't remember any of them representing themselves here, although the thoughts of all three have been posted here. There are plenty of e-mails from Dave Mathewson and Dave Brown, as well as recounts of phone converstations that have been posted by me and by others within this forum... all at times when issues were being debated here, not just in the time between the chosing of candidates and the beginning of the race. August 2 the candidates need to have their campaign statements in. THAT is the beginning of the race. Let us hold judgement until that time arrives.

Still to be heard from is RCAdmin.

I think Jim's reference is from Bill contacting yourself and myself to clarify some of the information that was mis-represented on the referenced forum. I made some points regarding the information and interactions that I have hade with Bill, although I don't recall forwarding anything you might call a "campaign statement". I merely just stated (as previously mentioned) my dealings with Bill, and the reasons I feel he deserves my support.

Bill know's just exactly who I think excaliber is. He neither confirmed it nor denied it. In my opinion, for someone to be in the position that excaliber is and to take shots at other candidates is absolutely unacceptable. To say that Dave Brown and Dave Mathewson have only rhetoric to offer is in absolute violation of the desire that Bill expressed to me to have a clean election. Excaliber is not just another poster here. If his presense is to throw mud, and disparage the other candidates, it is a direct reflection on Bill. If Bill wants a clean election, he had best exert control over excaliber.

I concur that Bill has no intent whatsoever of running a smear campaign. He dsoes not conduct business in this manner, and I hope that his supporters here on this forum would respect his methods. I know that I will.

also J_R, you have a p.m.
