From: Corona, CA,
I am wondering if anyone else finds some of the questions in the Model Aviation Survey raising more questions than they answer.
I have already had the answer in question 13 used as a reason for not increasing the information on the AMA published in Model Aviation. To this I replied: How can a survey respondent, that is not aware of the happenings in the AMA, make a determination as to the right amount of coverage? If, for example, a respondent was aware that the purchase of a full scale airport was being considered, would the respondent find more information desirable?
Question 13 and the results:
How do you feel about the amount of AMA coverage in Model Aviation?
Not enough AMA coverage 3.3%
About the right amount of AMA coverage 81.3%
Too much AMA coverage 15.4%

That question confirms the mushroom theory works in modeling!
Besides, there are those who insist that the AMA should buy airports, hotels, land, modeling shows and other things to keep raising the dues and build a monument.

Good question JR. Surveys, studies, statistics and all that stuff simply state what the survey taker wants to present.
I would never believe any of it. If I asked 1000 people a question and 100 answered with option x versus option y then I could honestly state that of 100 people questioned, 100% were for the Option X. Just forget about the 900 that chose option Y.
Ever walk through a mall and watch a news person taking a poll. Notice the caliber of people chosen to answer the question. They are only there to support that which they have already decided on.
No AMA policy will ever happen that is other than making a soft bed for the good-ol-boys at MA/AMA. OTOH this forum does rather support the survey question 13.
I never received the survey. Glanced through it on the web. Unimpressed.
