Default Time for a Change AMA District 1??

There has been a couple posts about this, but I don't think anyone actually linked to the election page. There is a new candidate for District 1 Vice President. Andy Argenio from Rhode Island is running this year. If you want more info about him or this district to to: [link=http://www.amadistrict1.com]www.amadistrict1.com[/link]
It's time for a change.... If you agree, check out Andy's site, and vote when your AMA ballot arrives in early October.

I apologize for the double post here. When I clicked the submit button, my I Explorer locked up, and I thought it didn't go through. This is the reason for Two similar posts.

Andy is running against Don Krafft. Allegedly, Krafft was was going to step down this year and hand over the VP position to one of his cronies. When he found out that Andy was going to run against him, he stayed in the race out of spite.

The current leadership needs an change and this attitude only proves it.

Paul,
I am sure that many are getting tired of seeing this attitude taken to the elections. From some observations, honey gets more flies than vinegar. Try to be more positive and let it outshine what you see as negative, or you and your candidate get branded as whiners and losers.

I've considered the time long overdue for change in AMA District 1, For the last ten years the district has been languishing in a representative "cone of silence" with regards to communication, information and interaction within the district. For whatever the reason, contests within the district have been only barely advertised, have suffered decreasing attendance and many times go unreported in MA.
I find it wonderous that Mr Argenio can launch a web site for his campaign in less than two weeks, yet District 1 has been waiting for it's since before January 2002. The closest we ever got was http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AMAdistrict1/ . a discussion group on Yahoo!!!. It appears we'll still be waiting....(at least until Andy gets elected)
I've known Andy some 14 years. During that time I've come to respect a hard working, dedicated individual who isn't afraid to get involved in anything related to the hobby. I know Andy will give it his best; and District 1 would do well by electing him.
I suggest visiting his web site, so that those interested can get a better measure of the man.

I've only known Andy Argenio for a few years but I can honestly say that Andy was a main motivating force for me getting back into RC modelling after quitting the hobby in the early 80's.

If you know Andy, then you already know that RC modeling is a major part of his life and that improving the hobby as well as expanding the hobby to new potential modellers are topics he always talks about. He has devoted a major part of his life to participating in the AMA and IMAA as well as the South County Radio Control Club of RI.

Check out his web site at [link]http://www.amadistrict1.com[/link] to find out more of how he can improve our representation in the AMA.
