Does AMA plan to tighten the info even more?

The below was sent to AMA's comptroller: 2nd try was copied to DH, DB, and DK. (3D gang
)
This just came back from the current EVP, Mr. Doug Holland.
Is this good or just more of the mushroom application? [X(]

This is a repeat from last week -- 5/26 -- just in case it got trashed in the holiday cook-outs.

Good Morning:
Can/will you please inform me when the 2004 Audit Report will be posted to the Members Only section of the web site?
Thank you.

In his May 05, MA column, Mr. Holland promised it to us "....as soon as it is received." Since it was reviewed in the April EC meeting, I do wonder why it is not yet posted in the Members Only Web section.
Thanks for your time.

What! Inform the members? What members? They don't matter as most of them never bother to vote for officers.
I will keep looking, just maybe we will get to see the audit report someday.

Good point Tailskid. I would venture to guess that the audit would tell us exactly where every penny is going that we pour into this "membership". So, say for example the audit says $200,000 is going to portapotties and underwater basketweaving instead of R/C stuff(a little extreme I know, but you get the point), then we know what we want changed when we vote for our officers. Just a guess, but if I am wrong, somebody please correct me. Thanks.

This is kinda fishy...why would they all of a sudden decide to change a policy...
They should HAVE TO post this audit, then change the policy if they want, long before next year's comes up. I don't like last minute cover-ups, even if it is only perceived...[>:]

Unless there was some massive change, you could get a copy of the budget for $5(copying charge) and the topsheet will be published in the magazine. I think they may not be putting it on the web anymore, maybe? Can't see the point of someone typing it in.

There is no need to type it in, it is more than likely already in electronic format. When was the last time you walked into an office and heard a typewriter ?

I have no idea what the "potential policy change" is, but as far as I know, the whole budget is and always was available to the membership, you just had to pay $5 for a copy. They CAN'T keep it a secret, they are a non-profit, the books have to be open. Not sure what all the fuss is about.
Tailskid brings up a great point, though, that a lot of people who DO read it cannot interpret it.

And your suprised? The AMA has not been member freindly for a while. Unless a bolt of lighting or mass exit of the membership happens things will never change. Mike
