There have ben recent reported and I'm sure unreported incidents of radio interference acress the globe. This is a real threat to our hobby.
Anyone can buy a radio and receiver, take it home, play with it with a live crystal, and can cause major grief and/or death for anyone flying at a field nearby.
With this know, and we can not absolutely guarantee it will NEVER happen, The AMA needs to champion the induxtry to make a better technology for GLOW and GAS planes that will lock a transmitter to a receiver and can not fail, EVER !
Anyone who wants to weigh in on this and get this attention in the ranks, do so now.
Here is Bliss Teague's reasponse from AMA, sounds positive, but we all need to jump in and MAKE NOISE about it !

Robert , The park flyers are the only ones using that technology just now that I am aware of . The industry is working on it too . I feel it will be available to most of us in the near future , after they get the range worked out . Then , we will not need a frequency board . Keep out fingers crossed . Thanks for
asking , Bliss PS Some are trying to use the 2.4 Ghz now in
larger planes , not very successful and illegal .
