Default Is it true?

A fellow club member told me that Model Aviation is eliminating the free calendar of events! Only paid ads will be in the magazine. Does anybody know if this is true?

Its true, the 20 dollar sanction fee only gets you a listing on the web site.

Terrific! More revenue for the AMA and a way to get people to the website to help reduce costs in the future. Smart thinking AMA! Keep it going!

STLPilot, When you post sarcasm, you should do a smiley of some kind so people will know. Otherwise, it is possible someone could misunderstand your intent, and perhaps not think as highly of you as they should.

I am hopeful that very bad decision will be reversed (no smiley).

Ain't gonna happen, Dion. Some staffer (the real AMA in your lexicon) jumped the gun on this one. It wasn't a done deal when announced in MA, and my bet is that it's now a no-go. A better way to get people to the website is to build a better website.

No sarcasm at all.

Oh well, another fast forward idea down the tube.

ST sometimes you appear reasonably intelligent, however here you remind me of these Harvard bean-counter dolts that run big business in this country. They simply cannot see the forest for the trees. Rape labor, import junk, outsource everything possible, and generally screw the economic system that has made their little world available is/are their answer/s for the minute right now, as they have no concern for the future of this country.

You appear to be interested only into getting inside AMA for the purpose of your own personal business interests, and whatever AMA can eliminate for the purposes of entertaining your well-being is just what you are looking for. Unfortunately for the rest of us, you do have some allies already on the inside there. You will probably make it inside also. [sm=sad_smile.gif]

It's really too bad for AMA and the real supporters of AMA -- the event organizers, club officers, the event workers and participants -- that the EC is so weak and timid that there were not at least 3 persons of AMA's salaried hierarchy on the streets the very next day after that posting was made on the web site. Since I use my fast-forward features to get past the rabble, I could easily fast-forward the subject idea because it is rabble promoted by a rabble class. [sm=48_48.gif]

I'll try to get a bit of a Silver Lining from this:
Maybe with a thinner magazine, from the loss of listings, it will cost less to publish and run slightly less in the red.
See, you just have to look for the positive in things. [&:]

I agree with that!!! My first impression was that there is some kind of tie to the ama, either he was a member of the ec or was trying to get elected!!!

Thread is now locked since by the third post it had jumped into a bash thread and the actual question has been answer by only one person.
