Default AMA To Be Or Not To Be, That Is The Question.

I am an AMA member and have been for 3 years. If anything it is worth it for the magazine.

I do have a slight problem with them. I was always under the asumption that the AMA was there to help the modeler.

Our local club has been actively looking for a flying field for well over 13 years. We keep runing into oposition from the city and local government our situation is unique up here in Juneau Alaska. We have to fly when the tides are low or wait untill all of the tourist have gone back to there cruise ships, before we can fly. Even then it gives us about 3 hours of flight before the sun sets.

We have contacted the AMA on this matter in For some assistance on aquireing a field much to no avail they always leave us out to dry.

The more I think about it the AMA insurance doesn't do us any good up here because of our flying conditions.

So in a nut shell the AMA can go fly a kite.
