From: Tulsa, OK,
Our club recieved some money from the AMA. I am not an officer, so don't quote me on the specifics. Some was for field improvements, we really need that, and are working on it with a ferver. Some was for a handicap ramp, which I and several others built. And some was towards our electric power, which we got installed. I don't remember the ammounts, but it was maybee 5% of the total that we spent, or maybee 10% but I think 5.
How's that for an answer?

So I forgot the (it) in it go.
Just thought it would be interesting to know how many clubs have applied , and how it has helped . I am AMA member and read.

RC Outlaw,
We just chartered our club in District V. I contacted the District VP and asked about any assistance that might be available from the AMA. He did not mention any funds being available, but he is sending us a first aid kit and a wind sock. We are a new and small club, so I doubt we would be very high on the list to get AMA to pay for any improvements.

Posting this here may change things, but, as I understand, last year every club that applied got money. The forms are on the AMA web page in the documents page.

I am not sure how you took my post. It was not meant to be any kind of a shot at you. The document I headed you to has a list of the 14 clubs that received money last year, along with the club numbers and the amount they received. I am sure that you can contact them either though the club locater on the AMA web page or through HQ. The odds of finding one of 14 clubs on this forum out of 2500 total clubs are not very high.

We just did our field. The pres of the club and I looked at it, but for the paperwork involved, he decided it was not worth the time. We could have gotten 10% of the total. For what we did, it amounted to less than $100 and would have taken more time to fill out the paperwork than it was worth for that. We went through some contractors locally and got a great deal of it donated. They put down a clay mixture on the runways and taxi ways which were then wet and rolled after grading the ground and then the mix. It is flat, hard as pavement and ended up costing us about $1000. Way cheaper than we would have had to spend doing it on our own. For us, it was the best way to go. Sure is nice to fly off of.
