I would like to congratulate Dave Mathewson for winning the elections and offer support to a new administration. We should all see what we can do to help. After all we are the AMA. I hope that all of us can give these new people a chance to make what changes they can before they are criticized. I feel it is the fair thing to do. Of course their are going to be mistakes. But then the last guy that made no mistakes was crucified.
I believe that this new administration will give everybody a chance to express themselves and offer whatever assistance they can. If you have something to say now is the time but say it to them. You will get a reply. Offer a hand, suggestion or anything you might have to say in a positive light. Just give these guy's a chance. Then you can say I told you so, or not.
Happy landings,
The Doc.

Here SSRC, I'll try to turn it back to the Light:
In the thread congratulating DM I said I was looking forward to seeing more of what I had seen of him on this board, in respect to his integrety. So far, I havent noticed anything to make me think he is slacking on his standards or conduct.
DM, So far so good... afak. [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
<edit append:>
ex:
Currently there is a flap over a program he voted for,
but we knew he wasnt against the program even before the election,
so even though I dont agree with his liking that program, he stayed to his intent without waffleing in the wind. You never know about a guy that is a wet noodle, but with DM I not aware of him backpedal or flopping around on topics. He did what he said, and that is a step up from politicians outside AMA

Hmmm.. ya know what, the measure of a man is the sum of his actions, the measure of a hero is the sum of a single action without taking into account any previouse action, the measure of the AMA is the sum of its actions for the membership, despite the membership. I think that D.M. is a solid person with a proven track record. trying to please everyone ultimately pleases noone and the hardest decisions are usually the most unpopular, however, the courage of one's convictions is a true test. Time will be the ultimate story teller of DM and his tenure. DM deserves the time to catch his stride and lead in his own way before he is given too much flack.
