Even the casual observer can clearly see the battle lines drawn here. It's very odd indeed. Especially in this hobby when a stranger can stop at any club around America and be welcomed to chat about planes and such. As a matter of fact, I have never been in a hobby where people are so friendly and willing to help each other out. And that not only goes for individuals, but companies alike.
But here it seems just the opposite. One person will post something and no matter the subject, the "other side" will jump on it and the OP.
What happened in the first place and when did all this bickering start? Has it always been this way or can someone narrow it down to a common denominator or reason. I guess what I am wondering, since I am not a long time RCU poster, is a little history about RCU and its members.
No biggie if you don't want to share an opinion on this, and please forgo the personal attacks and name calling. I just thought it would be interesting to get a little info on why things happen like they do here.
Thanks,
Frank

Go to AMA Forums. Click the double arrow right of the "next" button. That'll take you back to 2002.
Scroll thru the thread starters for a few years, see who is the common denominator from then til now.
Should show who has had a major influence on setting the tone for this forum.
Many names have changed, one hasn't.

I think 804 has a good idea there.
If you want to know what is up with the forum bickering, go back in the forum and look around.
I havent yet, so I dont know what name 804 is talking about,
but I have a pretty good feeling it isnt me, so I'm off the hook for ruining the entire interweb
However, the electronic availability of bickering and opposing views
may not be the initial point of said opposition.
We know there has been a harshness against Hoss & his views since long before Inter met Net. It could very well be just the classic political opposition lines on control, programs, & spending.... same human interactions in the AMA as we see in the national political scale.
Maybe it is just that the AMA is large enough to have politics,
and politics dont exist where everyone agrees on everything and then we have a group hug.

Believe it or not, that didn't take long.
I went all the way back to '03. To the first/oldest threads.

Curiosity appeased.
Ken, you can close this thread if you so desire. Nothing more to see here.
Thanks,
Frank
