The minutes of the Oct. 25-26 EC minutes are finally posted.

For some hints here are a couple funnies to me anyway!
HEY! Captive Insurance! I have been telling you that Phoenix would again rise up it head! Here it is.

Another official block in the door to those not already having a picture in the magazine. Insider's campaign statements have a nearby picture while outsiders trying to get in are not allowed such privilege. SOSDD!
Looking for revenue. They are going to need it.
OK, Troops, this is here now so it isn't labeled sour grapes if I had waited until the election results come in.

OTOH you will probably just get tired of telling others.

h. Awards Presentation
Tony Stillman, Mark Smith and Andy Argenio each received an Exemplary Service Award for three years of service on the Executive Council; the President presented the awards.
a. Brady Ware Presentation
AMA auditor Bob Reynolds reported on revisions to Form 990 (tax return AMA files), noting that the IRS is looking for full disclosure and complete transparency. Reynolds stated AMA must have a policy/process in place for the following:
• Group/committee that will conduct review of tax return prior to filing
• Expense accounts (VPs, key employees)/compensation
• Executive Director compensation
• Conflicts of Interest
• Whistleblower
• Code of Ethics
• Document retention/destruction
• Joint venture arrangements
Expense forms should be revised to show [the current per diem as] meal allowance.
a. Insurance
Items the committee addressed included:
• Expanding liability program to include providing liability program, for purchase, to various hobby vendors/manufacturers. Council to consider for possible inclusion in future agenda.
• Ensure that the business pursuit exclusion is adequately communicated.
• P. Bretson and I. Maine working on survey results re foreign coverage for casual flying overseas.
• Will not pursue the concept of offering an affinity automobile insurance program to AMA members.
• Will not pursue property coverage for club equipment.
• Alternative insurance mechanisms, primarily different forms of captives. A committee member will work with broker and gather educational materials on the state of the captive markets today.

[8D]Since there are so many Change Is Bad folks, does that mean the policy to be documented will be a history lesson about the guy that blewwhistle.... of is a change in policy/execution (just for the sake of change) in order?

Under Insurance.... I wish the EC would pursue property coverage for club equipment. Some club facilities took a real beating during hurricane season this year. I can't imagine that the cost would be that prohibitive.
