Membership drive question
Currently I am not an AMA member. The award of lifetime membership given in the current membership drive is very appealing to me. I have a few questions...
In the member to member category... What kind of recruitment numbers are to be expected by the winner? Double digits? Triple digits? I would like to knowif I had a chance at winning before I even considered working hard at recruiting people.
Thanks

The current leaders have 4 new members each to their credit.
the new member must list your ama number for you to get credit.
if they list a club as sponsor the club gets the credit.
if they list an AMA # from a hobby shop, the hobby shop gets the credit(no multiple credits allowed)
see: http://www.modelaircraft.org/members...e/leaders.aspx for updated totals.
SO join the AMA and get to work! You should have no problem winning if the persons in the lead only have 4 new members to their credit!
Something else to consider: A lifetime AMA membership cost $1500. You could go to a mall and sign up 10 people, pay the membership fee yourself($580) and you would still be ahead lots of money!
OR you could check the leader board often and make sure your always one member ahead of the first runner up! The break even point would be 26 new memberships.

RE: Membership drive question
Well I did see the leader had 4, but I couldn't believe it was only 4 people... I thought maybe 4 "points" meaning 10 people = 1 point or something.
Haha.. Iactually had a plan like that, but now its out of the bag, thanks goliath
NahI was thinking maybe offering just a discount.. like "join now and get $20 off" Sponsored by me.. or I suppose the 3 month memberships count so Icould say... join now for a 3 month trial and I will pay half if you say I referred you..
So keep an eye out for my recruitment program.. possibly coming soon..
It would say:
"Thinking of joining the AMA? Join now, and type me in as the the guy who referred you, and receive 10 bucks.. Thats half off a trial membership!"
But I would really be screwed when 200 people took me up on it...

RE: Membership drive question
Too bad this isnt the year of the great Stealth Seat Grab
when a certain group of folks will 'sign up XX guys' each
and cast those ballots to write-in grab an EC seat in a One Name Ballot race
... one of them could help buy the election and get a free life membership for it
