I was at the vet the other day and saw a cat who was injured and had no use of her back half. I am attempting to make a wheelchair out of old crashed landing gear (I seem to have a lot of those) and a couple of plastic cups. Online wheelchairs cost hundreds ($300-$500 for the smallest). I told the vet to tell other vets to call their local AMA club and see if anyone could help. I'm not much of a handyman, but they look simple and my homebuilt certainly is. If anyone is interested, I'll try to get a picture up soonest. I think a few newspaper aticles and local news stories about AMA members might make our hobby seem less of a threat and maybe a community asset.
