Have a friend that I recently soloed. He would like to join the AMA academy. Is there an online application ? Also if he joined at this time, would he have to pay the full years fee just for the remainder of this year, or should he wait until the beginning of the new year to join ? Did I see that new members fees were somewhere around $20. ?

I believe that the fee is for all of next year and for the rest of this year. I don't think you can do the application online, you can do it from your computer and print it out then fax it, but I don't think they have an online application.
