........for you to get your AMA card?

I've been waiting for a week and a half for mine (so far). Ican't join out local club without it!! I also can't participate in the Fun Fly tomorrow because I don't have my card to become a member of the club.
I thought for sure it would be here by now! Disapointing and frustrating!

Can you call then and at leaseget your number?

Mine took about 6 weeks IIRC. Didn't you get some online verification or email? Print that out and it should work.

Go to the AMA web site and select 'Member Services'. You'll find an option 'Membership Verification'. Select it. Enter your AMA number and last name. Then print out the results and take it to your club.

If a new club member came to me with that, we'd let him join and fly. We know how it works. You'll be fine.

Um, that's the problem. As stated above, Idon't have my number yet, so that won't work.

Too bad you didn't think about calling the AMA Friday afternoon. They could have hooked you up right on the spot.

Let us know how it goes at the fun fly when you bring your membership confirmation. I'm sure you will be fine.

I don't think you'll have a issue with membership verification email as proof. I know we would never turn away anyone who had just that. I lost my card a while back and that's what I've been using haven't been turned away yet.

Well, what a BEAUTIFULday! The Fun Fly was great! LOTSof planes and eats. Lots of family's too! They guys welcomed me with open arms "sure, fly your heart out!'. So I did! Burned 1/2 gallon of fuel today. I am having a ball with this. And, as a bonus, my card was in the mail when Igot home!! So Isigned up for membership on Septeber 16th and got my card in the mail on the 26th, 10 days! WOW! That was fast! All-in-all a great day!

When you join the AMA at an event you do not have a number, yet are still a member. Your club should accept the confirmation email as proof of membership. If they do not then they are being overly and unnecessarily restrictive.

That's good to hear. I thought as much and glad to hear the fun fly went well.
