RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
If the rules change, I will fly by the new rules, because I enjoy the hobby. That encludes followering the rules!
Thank You! |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
I need to apologize to the group that this thread got so far out of control. I was out of the loop for a few days and had very limited time to watch the forum here, and unfortunately the thread blew up. I have cleaned up the crap from this thread, so you may notice a huge chunk of the thread missing. I will only say that some people here on RCU had better learn to get along better with others here or they won't like the outcome that's going to happen. <div>

RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
Here's a simple answer:
When I'm at an AMA event I follow there rules, when I fly elsewhere I make the rules. (this is how I been flying for 30 years, but don't tell nobody.) |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
I thought there was too much honest exchange of information and ideas going on for a brief moment.....noW I know why...WELCOME BACK CENSOR NAZI!!!

Here, here.

RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
ORIGINAL: Thomas B It is amazing to me how many people must have slept through various Civics/US Government classes in school and that they also never happened to catch the Schoolhouse Rock episode on "How a Bill Becomes a Law".....:) (A bill making it through the Senate is only one step in a process....) Then you must know how admendments get changed or thrown out in the last minute. |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
ORIGINAL: CottcoRC Mr Sluggo...... You make a good point. If the ruling, indeed, mirrors the senator's letter, what will the remaining RCU/AMA forum have left to debate? |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
ORIGINAL: Richard39 My experience with two local clubs would indicate that everyone will continue to fly as they wish and no one in the club with authority will stop them..... Everyone here flys by the good old boy rules.... no AMA or other agency rules will be inforced if the members wish to fly high, wide and fast.... One big problem with the AMA Rules is that they are not rules... only recommendations.... It's a good thing your profile doesn't list a club. Or I would fear for their charter. |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
ORIGINAL: Richard39 I understand that some of this has been beaten to death in various postings...But forget the subject and help me understand that we do not have to follow AMA guidelines and suggestions... Is that true? we can fly anyway we wish at AMA fields because there are no Rules? only guidelines and suggestions by AMA.... That is right to a point. If the AMA finds out they may pull the clubs Charter. So no insurance. If the property is leased then they will likely run you off when the AMA notifies them that you have no insurance.. |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
Good Point.
For whom do you lobby? |

RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
ORIGINAL: WestCoastFlyer Silent, you're very knowledgeable regarding the AMA and AMA insurance - historically have AMA insurance claims been denied when a safety code violation was involved? We should not fool ourselves and rely on speculation of whether or not a claim might be denied based on a SC violation...that would be a very ridiculous notion to think it could not be IMO based on what I have learned. |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
Not sure that I am completely throwing in the towel. The remaining content of the threadmay continue cycling since there are severalrepeatvisitors readily willing to asses and post.As RCUKen said however,,,threads don't always turn out the way the OP had intended. That was certainly the case here. The original poll question was stupid, plain and simple. It wasmeant to be cynical (spelling) with a skosh of humor, not disrespectful as was pointed out by several posts. My apologies to anyone offended by post comments.

RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
I edited to offset damage the original questioned posed. This thread was a bust.
RCKen removed the smoldering ashes left behind by several trolls - thread trolls arescum , plain and simple. |
RE: If rules change, will you honor new rules?
cy rumley, If not for anarchy, you would be subjects of a monarchy in his/her colony. Careful what you wish for............ According to Websters online: Anarchy... "a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority" . Revolution...."a fundamental change in political organization; especially : the overthrow or renunciation of one government or ruler and the substitution of another by the governed" "Revolutionists" are what made the US what it is today. I believe in questioning the government, and sometimes changing it...BUT "anarchy" is a lawless society. Biggest man, biggest gun rules. I'm not for that...People need some sort of government in order to be civilized, otherwise "anarchy" will rule... |

In context, it appeared to have been applied to 3 out of 4 of the respondents to the poll. I think this meaning (from Wiki) fits better: "Most often, the term "anarchy" describes the simple absence of publicly recognized government or enforced political authority." I doubt that the folks referred to are intent on revolution, but are simply questioning authority and saying they may chose to not recognize it. Maybe my use of a particular example was inappropriate, as in that instance anarchy led to revolution. |
