TimJ It is obvious in this statement above that you have NOT reviewed the AMA financials. If you had, you would know that the ad revenue is pretty close to making the magazine self-sufficient . [/quote] WOW! Now, I'm not sure even a Liberal Congress Person could agree with you there. For your info and for others here from 2010 AMA Audit Report: Model Aviation Advertising Revenue........................................... .......$ 820,339 Model Aviation subscriptions (Hobby Shops and non-member)...............$ 51,482 Total revenue from Model Aviation other than Member Dues..... ...........$871,821 Model Aviation magazine direct costs..... $1,655,029 Advertising brings 49.5% of revenue to the AMA bank to pay MA expense. Non member subscriptions and Hobby Shop, etc. sales when combined with Ads only pays 52.7% of the total Model Aviation Expense. TimJ, that may be self-sufficient financial in your world but not mine. |
RE: Did You Know?
That leaves $783,208 to account for from dues. I've forgotten how many Open/Senior members there are but let me guess that at 125,000 which means about $6.25 per member to cover MA. I thought I saw the number $18 bandied about earlier in this thread.

RE: Did You Know?
The official number is (graytext) $18. It counts when arguing that MA is forced upon the members and their pockets raided but not when the MAprofit//loss issue is at hand.
You really must learn the RCU/AMA forum rules of (pretzel) logic. |
RE: Did You Know?
Kbob
but not when the MA profit//loss issue is at hand please point to the $18 Profit/Loss published number you would like us to use A simple reference to a page# in the annual report with the $18profit number you want us to use. Perhaps before you harsh folks for not using a number that dont exist, you should consider that the number dont exist If you want to have folks waive their hand at vague guesses at what the mythical $18Pofit is, ok, heres one: The magazine MA is a revenue stream of ?? ($18x ~100k members = ~$1.8mil) taken from the members, along with another revenue steam of ~$900k taken from advertisers. By having the magazine we justify taking $2 from the members for every $1 we get from outside. Finding new excuses to take more money from the members is not Profit. There, is that the $18profit vagueness you wanted to see? |

It is obvious in this statement above that you have NOT reviewed the AMA financials. If you had, you would know that the ad revenue is pretty close to making the magazine self-sufficient . Could you post the cost and revenue numbers you are looking at, and the source you got them from, cause the ones AMA publish year after year dont jive with your declaration Evidently your buddy kiDePoxY is Or was that some intentional mocking of my name? Heres an idea: Since I have sat here and have been polite as you defame me, call me a cancer, misrepresent me, and now this junk, perhaps you could try not insulting me again in this thread until I insult you at least once. I know you are aware of my motive in that deal: You know I dont plan on insulting you at all so you will be stuck not insulting me. Would that really be that bad... to have a discussion of a subject without your cheap shots? |
