RE: lost field

Why'd you lose the field? Why should you have been able to retain it? What help did you ask for that you didn't get?

Is it really chicken )(*^ reasons.. or were you, personally, one of the causes of the club losing the field and don't want to admit it?

Did you even bother to contact the AMA when the first hints you were losing the field came up? Or are you just starting to complain now that its too late?

Fred is it hard to fly your plane with your head up your butt? The guy just said the club lost the field and you pretty much accuse him of being the cause. Stop acting like a moron.

AMA is down in Muncie, IN. Now Kittaning is around 7000 people ??=/- ??, but not far NE of Pittsburgh. and you have 268 members. While I've spent a lot of time around PIT, I forget the lay of the land along the river in your area..

However ,it would seem that with 268 members a club could easily raise some $250,000.00 and go shopping for some land to either buy or make a lucrative long term lease from some farmer. With a couple hundred grand down, you could probably get a decent mortgage on a very suitable chunk of land. Scanning some real estate classifieds I see there are units of 30 to over 100 acres for sale around that area at reasonable prices in the 1200 to 5000 per acre price ranges. A 250+ member club is bound to have some contacts to get some dirt-work accomplished.

Go get 'em.

RE: lost field

It would be interesting to know some of the background prior to the loss of the field. And if the club knew about it and if they tried to do something about. Just for referrence that might help some other club from possibly losing a field. Inquiring minds would like to know.

No wonder you are so well loved here[:'(]

Apologize or be prepared to eat these words MANY MANY times GOOB. There is no doubt I will feed them to ya.

I agree with the troll. Your attitude, if shared by very many members of the AMA, could make me want to quit the AMA.

Well I will be surprised if tbone posts anything further after that classless tirade.

Troll, we can probably expect, in typical Huber fashion, there will be no apology or admission of wrong.

I totally agree JR, this is why AMA is not emplemented at our field. And, FWIW, several of the AMA fields around us have had the same problems but were still in the same location. Go figure!

Troll, sometimes when the final judgment is passed, there is a surprise as to just who does eat the words. Personally I am not yet making a judgment call on Huber's words.

Reference my post above on the subject: When the original Jetero RC Club, Inc. was losing its field, the *clique* knew of that losing a couple years prior to the mainstream Club Members knowing the fate of the Club as determined by the landowner Waste Management.

I had found out that the *clique* was preparing another field but keeping it on the quite. I ran for Club President and because Jetero was scheduled to lose the field by March 1, 1996, I was easily elected. The *clique* was just waiting for the field to close and all members to come and "Buy flying rights" (no club rights) at their new facility so they took a back seat and snickered away. Since the Club was incorporated, and I had been made the Corporate State Contact (the clique attorney was dissolving their interest in Jetero) I used that position, my elected status, and bylaws that the attorney had previously ram-rodded through, to get the members to elect to purchase land, retain the club's treasury, name and corporate status and build a new field.

To make a long story short, losing the field, breaking up a big club, the clique's arrogance and over-confidence, and my determination to save the original Jetero all molded together into providing a large, now 130 members, AMA Gold Leader Club, well provided for with assets, operating capital, and a deeded owner of real estate.

The other group still has their leased property within the flood plain, no facilities, just some flat mowed ground, frequently surrounded by corn and various equipment. I suppose they have what they want, and we have what we want yet continuing to build. In any case there isn't any snickering around that I can hear.

So for Tbone, never look at a disaster other than an opportunity to bounce back better. Sometimes one must take the Bull by its horns. If FH is harsh, then make him eat his words. Only Results count, not threats.

edited to add who in first sentence.

Since you can't learn to correctly spell my name, printed in the majority of my posts, I gather that you have just learned the difference between autobiography and biography.
Since you are using my narrative in your story about cars, may I suggest you look up "plagiarize" just in case you forget and wrongly use something there.

Well Hoss you may disagree and really doesn't matter a bit... FH's words are not appropriate IMJ and shows little compassion for the thread originator. So defend him if you wish and you will be just as wrong.

Troll, ref FH: "So defend him if you wish and you will be just as wrong."
Defend him? I have not been appointed either defender, prosecutor, judge or jury. In addition I don't pretend to be some self-anointed judge of the world and hide behind some mask like an executioner.

Tbone has not responded to his lament with additional information as requested by stalspin or has he responded to why his BIG club isn't pursuing other options as I suggested.

Methinks the tbone may be infringing on troll's spray area.

Sorry Hoss. I thought you had a position in the matter. I was wrong and I apologize. I guess and you are neutral and just wished to blow your horn a little.

BTW you must be one of the few here that do not know who I am...how surprising... or are you just playing games?
