I do not like to really get involved but the AMA nut did not prove out for all types of application so it was not made a rule. Sorry i might be wrong but I am not FHH. Sheeeeee1 I got marks to prove It!

I can't find why the spinner nut rule was dropped from the safety code. I can't find a version of the safety code that had it in[&:] ( I can't fine a LOT of years' safety code versions...) so I can't tell what year to look for the issue being discussed.

I imagne it is similar to the "Rule 9" arguements about tail touching. (assuming it was in the code) "They" added the rule, got a big backlash on it (because it really won't prevent a deadly impact from being deadly, though it might lessen SOME injuries) and I would bet it was dropped within a year or two of being added.

If you zoom in on the pic of my DR1... there's a safety nut on it... scale appearance or not. The Electric starter stays centered better on the prop with the rounded nut. (Though I usually hand start that engine... 3 flips and I get the starter.)

I practically always fly with a spinner or safety nut. I often have a safety nut inside the spinner. (because you don't have to hunt for the metric prop wrench[&:] not because I think its safer) BUT... don't tell me (or anyone else) I HAVE to have one when its not required.

In my original post I was mentioning about Spinneres being used on scale aerobatic planes. I have a ZDZ 50NG that carrys a 6-bolt Hub. There are no Threads on my engine .

I intend on purchasing a carbon fiber spinner as well as a Mejzlislic carbon fiber prop, but until I can come up with the 100.00 bucks for these Items I just wanted to be sure I was indeed legit.

Well, that was a colossal waste of time. I read all four pages and still wonder why the 268 Sky Kings lost their field. Beginning to think FHH's knee jerk reaction was an accurate call.

That thread also wouldn't have gone as far afield if the knee-jerk defense of the original poster had thought about it a bit... and waited for the original poster to maybe... respond.

I might have worded my first response a bit milder... but once done:eek: changing it would only have led to people asking why. (look at the attack made because I corrected a simple typo on a rule number reference.[:@])

And this thread... should have been over at post 3 or 4...[&:]

Then find ANY merit to J_R's first post.

If you can find merit to that... I might think about writing an appology. But I doubt you can find merit with that blatant attack on reality.

JR's post when looked at by itself appears to be out of line however, given the recent sparring between you, him and many others it isn't that far out. I was only upset because he beat me to the punch when it came to reffering to you as an "AMA safety nut" which is a pretty funny remark that you set yourself up for.

I really have to wonder if you are having fun online lately constantly defending yourself and getting into squabbles with many people in many forums. You are the only person who has managed to get into a name calling match with the normally peaceful JR and even his debates with Horace are somewhat civil.

At some point you have to take some responsibility for all the arguments you find youself in and look at the common denominator in all these things. Fred, you are the common denominator and your constant need to be right is really tiresome. You obviously have a lot of knowledge to share but when you refuse to back down or see another side to a situation you loose credibility.

So if your goal is to debate and be disliked and ridiculed keep it up because your on a roll. I don't expect to see any apologies but maybe rethink what you are doing and see if it is what you are here for.

So, we have to be RIGHT every Fricken (yes that is the "F" word) time we say something on this forum. I'm sorry, but I have taken too much of FH's attitude. There is one guy in every club. The guy that has to prove everything must be accurate with evidence and logic and facts and documentation. That has to get into everyones business and prosecute them until they get fed up and leave.

We do RC for FUN. Some of us have to be perfect 24 hrs a day 5 days a week, and like to just try to relax and not have any demands put upon us. So we discuss AMA rules about frequency, tail touching, spinners, Dave Brown's nose, whatever, but they are just opinions. Yea, we like to haze each other (JR and Hoss, BB and Blackie), but not beat each other into submission with interlectual, and then immature reteric. We all say things off the top of our heads since most of us are doing something else at the same time (ie: work, honeydos, glueing ourselves to a wing), and may not be 100% correct, maybe just correct enough to get others thinking and researching for the answer, so that we all can find the right answer. not someone who gets the information, then announces that he is right and everyone else is bad for being wrong.
