RE: Why I'm Supporting Mark Smith
ORIGINAL: Robotech ORIGINAL: combatpigg Mark Smith has definitely got the "mullet vote". <Loony tunes theme song here> Huh? The Mullet vote? What in the cat hair does that mean. Mullet the 80's hair style? Business in the front, party in the back. :)Hmmm. Never had one. Can I still vote for Mark Smith? Guess Hoss has the flat-top vote sewed up? Now I did have one of those (10 yrs. old). Army brat you know. Little stick of butch wax to boot. Hmmmm. Maybe you can't fit folks into little groups as much as you try. Old trick, same result. Other than the perceived lack of interest in a pet peeve (OCD) concerning the free mag and the seemingly slow response to a request for figures not readily available to him, Mark has passed muster. The other candidate, not so much. KE: Your ability to cast a ballot in no way affects your right to voice an opinion. Whether you are a $58 voting member or a $29 non-voting member, you have a right, a duty, to voice your opinion. Heck, even if someone is not even an AMA member they should have an interest in the election outcome as AMA issues are the issues of the modeling public in general. Gains or losses made by the success or failure of the AMA affect us all. Rational thought and reason don't come with a membership card. Robo, I think you have closed the loop with that last statement. Talk about living proof.:D:D:D Bill, AMA 4720 |

If you're not a member of the AMA, your opinion is worthless.
Its like the people that moan about the president, but never voted for one. PFFFT. |

RE: Why I'm Supporting Mark Smith
Ok, that's going far enough. RCU is NOT going to remove ANY members based on the outcome of the upcoming election. So this line of discussion can end right here, right now.

RE: Why I'm Supporting Mark Smith
Ok, that's enough of that. If you are so intent on betting then I would suggest you go to Vegas and place a bet there. As for here in these forums, that's the last I want to hear of it. All it does is distract from the discussions at hand.
Thanks for your cooperation guys. Ken |

RE: Why I'm Supporting Mark Smith
STL,
It has nothing to do with recruiting new members. No organization allows non-members to vote, why should we listen to persons who have no vested interest in the organization. The US doesnt allow non-citizens to vote, Corporations dont allow their competitors into the boardrooms. The simple fact is people who have never once got off their butts to support the organization should have ZERO say when it comes time for us to choose our leadership of OUR organization. Non-members dont have anything invested in the failure or successfulness of the AMA. Its easy to pick a side when you have nothing to lose. |

RE: Why I'm Supporting Mark Smith
If the gov't and the people didn't listen to illegal and legal immigrants, they wouldn't be here. They might not be able to vote, but their voice is loud and clear and people listen. If this was true the AMA would be mailing out policy voting mechanisms only to members, they don't, they use survey monkey and anyone can voice their opinion. Also if the AMA believed they should only listen to members, they wouldn't be in here constantly listening to what is said right here on this board and they frequent quite often. Whether they have "say" doesn't matter, because they are still heard and decuisions are made based on them. Case in fact ... the PPP, most AMA'ers that were asked their opinions were against the program, the numbers were posted publically. Problem is that "most AMA members" only makes up a small fraction of those that play with flying model toys and could eventually be members. You know and I know their voice is heard, why shouldn't it ... there is a reason they are not here and it's not a guess. In all reality, non-ama folks spouting their opinions are like special interest groups lobbying for some pork bill. Their opinions are based on a "whats in it for me" aspect. They dont care about the AMA. All they want is a kickback. We have no obligation to listen to the opinions of people who have never supported us, and dont have our best interests at heart. Blathering on about what changes they want when they dont even have the guts to make an effort to change them other than spouting off at the mouth. I stick with my original statement. WORTHLESS. If you want to make changes, get up, sign up, pay your dues, and vote.....and dont expect sympathy if you dont. |
