Here is my E-mail address. [email protected]

Do you think a Saito 180 would be enough engine. He told me that it should weigh about 12 lbs with the Satio but he is using a G-45 and his weighs 15 lbs. Don't know the weight diffference on these engines but if it is 2 poinds then it may work.
Thanks

Default Conachen Aircraft.

I have been flying a Conachen yellow hawk the past couple of months
Airplane set up with 9203 servos all around
Decided to go with a ST 3250 turning a MA classic at 8400 rpm
Unlimited vertical can even do two consecutive knife edge loops
Excellent flying airplane
Do use the heavy duty control horns and it is a sweet airplane to fly

Default Engine choice

dxrx,

Got a question for you... I was thinking of getting a Conachen Ultimate whenever my Sig Sukhoi dies or this fall, whichever comes first. I have a FPE 3.2 gasser on the Sukhoi and was thinking of putting it on the Ultimate. It is about a pound lighter than the G45 that Conachen has on his. Would this put the wing loading up too high, or do you think it would still be a good flyer? Thanks for any info you can provide.

Default Conachen Aircraft.

The ultimate that I have can be seen at the Conachen web site
(yellow hawk colors)
The previous owner has a quadra 400M in it and It flies mighty fine with unlimited vertical
When he sold the airplane to me he kept the engine
I have a G45 and an St 3250 which is much lighter so I decided to go with the big CAT
Haven't weigthed the whole deal but will if you need to know the weigth
I have to mount the ST inverted and has to take my time to set the carb ( OS7D) Once done It ran great turning a Classic MA 18/10 at 8400 rpms
From What I have seen of the Brison 3.2 It should accelerate straight up on the hover
The airplane is very solidly built but, if you get the ARF version ,change all the control horns (cheezy cheap stuff).
Good luck
Alan

I had the 1/4 scale Sukhoi with a Quadra 52. It flew very strong and the weight wasn't a problem. This Suhkoi was originally made under the Ultimasport name plate. I will post a picture to give you the before and unfortunately "The After" pictures.

I thought it flew well, I later found out I had a binding elevator push rod stick in full deflection (only one half of the elevator) and down she went. All my fault.......darn.

Sorry to see such a nice flying ac crash .
After reading your post, I may have to change the push rods in my ultimate ( look like bass wood ) .
For those with a heavier gas engine, I would recommend using aft servos with 4/40 push rods.
My engine beeing glow, require the servos to be up front .

Yea, I agree with the relocation of servos to the rear. Even though I had carbon fiber push rods with 4-40 threaded clevis ends, a full deflection snap can still get the best of you.......or your elevator!

I looked at your ULTIMATE on Conachen's web site WOW what a beautiful airplane!!! I wonder if all his ARF's are finished that nice? I plan on a 3.2 gasser in that size. I will give them a call soon to find out pricing and availability.
