Looking at purchasing this airplane, The fliers that are now flying this plane what is the engine that works best, 60 size or larger, Is the gear mounting still a problem and has to be reinforced as in the earlier kits.
Thanks

I'm flying mine on electric so I cant really help much in the glow area but I would do a .90 size if you want good performance.
As for the landing gear, I simply taped over the blind nuts in the bottom of the fuse and thinned out some epoxy and recoated the entire gear area from inside to help strengthen the area. I was pretty green when I first got mine and have had some pretty hard bounced landings and so far the gear has held up very well with no signs of structure damage.

I'm currently running a hyperion ZS 4025-14 @ 370 Kv swinging a 16x10 apc prop on a 6S 5000mah pack. Decent performance but I'm only using 1500 of the motors available 2100 watts. I'm planning on going to an 8S system and she should go extremely well with this combo based on what I'm seeing from my current set-up, weight penalty will be minimal as I'll drop my mah from 5000 on the 6S to 4000 on the 8 and still maintain near 9 mins flight time if I figured everything out correctly.
Edit,
Oops, left out the esc, its a hacker 70A but I'll need to get a new one for my proposed 8S system as the Hacker wont support the increased voltage.

Im running the R70 on a super tiger 90 w/ pits muffler, so fasr it flies great but yes you do need to reinforce the landing gear. On the first madin Idid about 6 touch and go's and on the final landing after about 20' of role out the gear let go. other than that its a great plan.....good luck.. oh if you run the st90 make sure you plug one port on the exh.
