Hi,
I am mostly a 3d-funfly pilot i.e. I like flying slow, so the Super Skybolt is not exactly my type of airplane. But there is a good deal available on this airplane (about at a 10% discount at my LHS) and I have a 75ax or FS91SII available. Hence request comments of how this would be as a deal,

both of those will fly the plane nicely.
i have a saito 100 in mine and its a perfect combination.
the manual shows the plane built with a 91 OS 4st.
ive had mine about 6 months, several flights and enjoy it a lot.
use the low rates for intial set up and maiden.

this is a short video of the maiden takeoff recorded by my son
with his cell phone.

I have the plane with an OS .91 FS and (if I recall correctly) a 15x4W prop. It flies great, but will not do 3D due to a lack of aileron authority. With my prop / engine setup it will hover, just barely, with nothing left to pull out. It flies plenty fast (for what it is) with this setup.
That said, it is a great sport flier, lots of fun, and capable of some huge aerobatics. Oh, and it's one of the few bi-planes with thumb screws for the wing braces making assembly / dis-assembly for transport a snap. Final thought, look at the reactor bipe.

Alreasy have the Reactor Bipe. Have a OS FS91SII waiting for when that one will fly. In fact, I also have the Phoenix Topstar, GP Extra 300SP, CMPro Quest 50, Phoenix Yak and H9 Funtana awaiting their turn in boxes, to name just those I dont have two of

It's funny you should ask that question.
I had a Super Skybolt ARF and flew it first with the OS .75AX and later with the OS FS .91 Surpass II.
Both engines are almost identical in terms of performance.
The .75AX spun an APC 14x6 at an even 10,000rpm.
The FS .91 spun the same prop slightly less at about 9,800rpm
They are both a good match for the airframe. The 4-stroke sounds better.
Both engines have plenty of power for aerobatics but neither engine will give you unlimited vertical.
I also tried a Saito 1.25 and it was probably too much power, but it sure was fun.
The Skybolt is the model i wish i never sold and i'm now considering getting another.
If I did i would definitely go for the OS FS 1.10a or maybe a Saito 1.00 or 1.15
If 2-stroke is your thing, then the OS .95AX would be better than the .75AX.
