I have a T-28 Parkzone PNP and a Futaba 8U transmitter, can't get the motor to run, Parkzone directions say to reverse throttle, how do I do this?

You need a speed Control, (ESC)

The PNP comes with a speed control, so I'm assuming it's hooked up properly. This would mean it is plugged into channel 3 on the rx. If so then I assume you are getting an "error" beep when you power up the radio and plane. This happens if the throttle is not in the full "off" position. If the throttlechannel isin the wrong configuration, then when the stick is pulled back it is actually calling for full throttle. As a safety feature, theEsc willnot allow the plane to power up if the throttle and trim are not in "full off" position. This is why they are telling you to reverse the throttle servo, but what you actually have to do is change the channelconfiguration in your TX.
You can test this by moving the throttle stick andtrim slide all the way foward, then try powering up the plane. If the plane gives correct ' triple tone" after power up, then you canGENTLY pull the stick or the trim slider back and see if the prop starts turning. If it does, then what you have to do is reverse the throttle channel in your tx. On older radiostherewas aslideswitch for each channelthat you simply moved up or downto change the channel configuraion. I'm not familar with the 8U in particular, but It is a computer radio and there will be a menu parameter that lets youreverse each channel.
You will want toread the manual and figureout how to select channel 3 and change it.Changing any of the other channels may cause your control surfaces to work in the wrong direction, so make sure you check rudder, ailerons, elevator, etc. to make sure they are moving like they should. If not, you will need to change those channels also. Ailerons are usually channel one, rudder- channel 2 , elevator-channel4, channel 5,6,and 7 are usually not used on the Parkzone t-28 unless custom flaps and landing gear have been added.
Hope this helps.

Jerry,

Thanks, you're right on target. I'm getting the beeps, and prior to posting I tried to change the throttle via the para menu, but it kept taking me to the thottle cut-off mode. I also tried moving the throttle trim all the way off (down), but (and here is where you may have solved it) I think I need to move the throttle trim all the way upand follow the procedure you described. I will also tryreversing via thechannel number (3). I'm at work now but will try tonight.

Thanks, I'llreport back.

I had the same exact problem quite recently when setting up my first electric model with my 8UAF Tx, and just as Jerry mentioned the throttle setting is the key, as once I reversed the throttle everything worked perfectly.
