Capt I did a build on this plane back in feb. This plane with the DLE is awesome.
I had to cut my stand-offs down to 30 mm and cut a hole in the firewall

Quite recently I helped my friend DaleD put together an MX2 with a DLE 30 and it's an awesome combo. The engine was a fairly easy install using both a Pitts style muffler which we replaced with the stock muffler because of exhaust leaks, and like Kerwin50 did, we strengthened the engine box to help handle the DLE's power. With an AUW of approximately 10lbs., it's proving to be a very nice flying model with power to spare, and I'm sure that you will like the combo Capt,n.

I salute Kerwin for getting this plane to fly with a DLE 30. This Arf seems to be built way out of proportion.

Engine box way too long.
Engine box not strong enough for a DLE30.
Cowl needs to be adjustable...to adjust for prop hub....maybe it will???
Main firewall looks weak as attached to engine box.
Landing gear looks too small in all photos???

Now things that may help!
Use a 19x8 Xoar prop.
Shorten engine box and re-enforce it to firewall.
If need be use a single servo with a pull-pull setup for the elevator. It has 2 arms on outside of fuse...the rest inside..nice.
Maybe beef up landing gear area.
Maybe use a bigger landing gear or at least a better one.

I sure hope the next version is better. A person should not need to do all this too a ARF to get it ready for a popular engine like a DLE30. Best Regards Capt,n
