Has anyone else seen the new Christen Eagle ARF offered by Hangar 9 ? I was hoping they would import the one from Seagull, but this looks just as good. Website is showing a mid November release date. All these NEW great looking planes, I just can't help myself!!

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE
Looks like it can be set up for glow or electric. Wingspan 54'' 800+ sq. in. wing area, 8 1/2 to 10lbs flying weight. I'm guessing it would be a great fit for a DLE 20 for power with that huge cowling. It also looks like it has plug in wings for easy transportation. I just sold my 1/3 scale GP Eagle, looks like this will be in my hangar next.

Now we know why they wouldn't import the seagull. I bet its a rebranded/reworked Seagull with the H9 badge on it? Specs look very very similar. Nice looking Eagle. Glad they took the time to do the actual 8 color scheme on it, and not the normal boring 4 color scheme. Great job Horizon!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE
A few months back I e-mailed customer support and asked if they planned on importing the Seagull kit. The reply was that Horizon had something very similar in the works, and to keep checking the web site for updates. I guess this is what they were referring to. I'm sure it will be worth the wait!!

BH Models makes a Pitts that is a little bigger than the Eagle and it is also a beautiful kit. I have the Eagle on back order, and the BH Pitts in the build queue.

Alright guys the UPS guy delivered my Eagle. Looks really good, the covering job is fantastic. I will post pics when time permits. Overall impression I'm very happy with it. Should be a great match with the Saito 120.

Handyman,
How are you comming on the BH Pitts? Is there a build thread on it?
I have one in the box that I have a magnum 180 just waiting to get assembled.

Cubcrasher, mine is also still in the box. There is a thread on RCU search( Re:Why no love for the Pitts S1???) I don't know why the kit didn't get more of a response, it really is a beautiful plane. There is also a thread in RCGroups

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE
I picked up my eagle the other day. It looks great except for the top of the turtle deck. has some ridges from when they bent the balsa over it, but it is not bad enough to worry about. Will not get to start on the build until after the new year. I am thinking of a DLE 20 for power but have a Saito .125 already so just have to make up my mind. Will be watching for any build tips that show up on here.

I finally got the cowl on. I am happy the way it turned out, might have to baffle the air to cool the engine. I did open up holes like the full size, hoping that it will be enough cooling.

Bob, that looks great. I am fired up about this because I was wanting this plane but with a gas engine and didn't really want a Saito 4 stroke gasser. Now, to find out how it performs!!!

RE: NEW HANGAR 9 CHRISTEN EAGLE
I have not installed the batteries yet. It is balanced at 4 7/8" now so should nothave any problem getting it ballanced ok. Will have to wait for my first flight, went to the flying field oday and there is about 5" of snow onthe runway.
