This plane is listed on the hobby people website under 40 size arfs by modeltech. Does anybody know what it is?

This is the same plane as the Magic Extra made by model tech. The only diffrence is that they made the top part of the fuse in front flat all the way back to the canopy, put a tinted canopy on it and called it a diffrent name rather that extra

I looked at one at my LHS, Looked well built and covered! Seamed light for its size.

Actually, there is more to it than that.

The Simply Magic has a different configuration tail, larger wing, and the motor cowled. These changes affect the speed, accelleration, stall, and handling, including traking and control coupling.

And internally, all the bulkheads and major parts are cut by laser. So, the internal fit is better than ever and the construction is more precise.

Are the tail servos setup like the magic extra?
Do the tail surface's have counter balance's?
Is the wing 1 piece or 2? ( do you have to glue the together?)
Whats on the bottom?

I bought a Simply Magic.
It looks pretty good in the box.
I hope I can get my fat fingers in where the servos need to be mounted.

Was I correct that this plane will be a good one sunday fly and might be a better "second or third" airplane rather than the "Extra"

Your post says changes made "affect the speed, accelleration, stall, and handling, including traking and control coupling". But you did not say how. ie will it stall at slower speed?

What is the covering material? Will it take a patch with Monocote?

Am I wrong here? The Ailerons appear to be a little larger than the Magic Extra. I havent flown My Magic Extra yet, but when I do and happen to crash Ill have to take a closer look at the Simply Magic. I dont care too much for the colors though.[

The question is WHEN are you going to fly/crash that thing. Any longer and the dust (rather than the earth) is gonna plug up the engine and servos. Somebody tell him that his Magic Extra will fly even with him at the controls. (at least for a minute) I flew the Magic3D and that thing simply floats. I am going to come over, hand you the radio and throw it off your roof. If you want it to live you will be forced to fly it. If you want.. I will even fly it for you. BTW, I can legally tease my brother cant I?

Bruce, Tycer is right. It will fly with you at the controls. The Magic Extra is a dream plane for what I paid ($99 on sale at Hobby People). The plane is very cool looking in person. It is light. And it flies like a dream. Knife edge all day. Hovers nice. All that. I wouldn't be afraid, set the throws really low and it will fly easier than any trainer out there. That ME looks better in my opinion but I like the red with racing stripes. The Simply's wing is bigger but the plane is also heavier. The wing loading is more on the SM (16-18 on the SM vs 15-17 on the ME). The landing gear and wheel pants look cooler on the ME. God I hope they keep making this plane. I'm tempted to buy another one in case I bust up mine real good. I'm sure the Simply magic flies great. I wish they'd make it in another color...RED !!!

Although if it went on sale I'd probably buy a Simply Magic. Please go on sale !!!!!

Oh another thing, I think I figured out why the Magic Extra is so much better for knife edges than the Hanger 9 Ultra Stick: It's because the Magic Extra's rudder goes all the way down to the bottom of the fuse (split elevator). Whereas the Ultra Stick's rudder stops above the elevator. I think that the rudder should always follow the fuse all the way to the bottom It keeps the plane from wanting to twist. Maybe it's just because the Magic Extra's fuse is tall and narrow vs the Ultra's short fat boxy fuse.

Dude wait till you fly that plane. You'll love it.

Just for the record. Tycer is my smart assed brother. I think Ill throw him off the roof of my house and see how long he can fly before he crashes to the ground. Probably longer than his UCANDO 3-D with him behind the controls. By the way he has had his Ucan as long as Ive had my Magic and he hasnt flown it yet either. He said something about the engine dying. Since when do you need the motor running to fly? Through it off the roof smartass.[>:]

wow a new hobby: RC flying people. Just put a 150 cc engine on his back and fly him around.
