Default 4*60 with TT.61??

Am thinking of my second plane. Pretty well settled on the 4*60. Any suggestions on power plant? How about a Thunder Tiger .61?Thanks..

Default 4*60 with TT.61??

The TT61 will be plenty of power. Try to install the engine as late as possible during the assembly to ensure the the CG is correct without having to add any weight.

Mine was built from a kit. The building took a week. I was almost disappointed because I had planned to build it a lot longer!

I put the Saito 100 in mine as far backward as possible. The only thing I had to adjust was the receiver battery placement. Now it is beside the fuel tank.

Make it as light as possible and you will get the sweetest flier.

Thanks for the good word.. I hadn't thought about a kit. I was going to go with the ARF. Would a kit be better than the ARF? Jim

Default 4*60 with TT.61??

I have the 4*60 ARF and my flying buddy has the kit. I can't tell any difference in how they fly. I had the red one but I didn't like the color so I removed it and recovered it in blue and yellow. I got the ARF second hand and got a great deal on it. Mine has a TT 61 engine on it also. I started off with a K&B 65 on it and did not like the way it flew. i changed engines to the TT and It is great. It has lots of power with a Master Air screw 12x6 scimitar prop. I am going to try a 13x5 or 13x4 prop on it this weekend. The thunder tiger motors run great and have not given me any problems. I had to add about 3 1/2 oz of weight right behind the aft wing mount to get it to balance. If you build from a kit you can get it to balance by just moving the gear around inside. I tried but still had to add weight to mine. It flies great very stable. I flew it for 4 hours yesterday and had no problems. The more I fly this plane the more I like it.

I had a YS91Ac in mine originally and it was a little wild, but the TT61 seems possibly a little tame.

Default 4-Star 60

For your second airplane, it will be hard to beat a 4-Star 60 with a .61. A buddy of mine had one with the TT .61GP in it and it flew great. It did all the acro except 3D and it landed about like a trainer.

With a .61 it won't have sustained vertical, but it will be fine for a second plane. After you get used to a low wing plane and if you do want more power, you can replace the engine with a .91 like the Magnum .91XLS, OS .91FX or a .91 4-stroke.

I have the TT61 Pro on a Global Right Flyer 60H trainer. I got a couple of APC 13x4W "3D Fun Fly" Series props and they worked great on my engine/plane. I've been learning to land and have broken both 13x4Ws and all 3 of my APC 12x5s. I switched to a Master Airscrew 12x6 with the white tips. It has survived my landings better than the APCs.

The 4*60 is a wonderful airplane for your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th plane. I have one on floats with a Super Tigre 75 for power and absolutely have a ball with it. Go for it and have a blast.........
