That's the first thing I noticed when I opened the box. The second thing I noticed was how "cheap" the factory cowl and wheel pants were anyway.
Quickly remedied the situation with a call to fiberglassmasters for a new set, and a trip to my LHS for a can of missile red paint. Ditch those factory pieces, they are CRAP!!
The fiberglassmasters pieces are FAR SUPERIOR-you'll like them.

thanks for the reply formerCA. the cowl&pants i got are very nice fiberglass ones, just wrong color. i would hate to send $60 more on new ones. great planes said it is the first they have heard of it also. PLEASEEEEEEE, these where color-molded-in fiberglass cowls and wheel pants,if i got the wrong color,so did everyone in that lot. i would like to say after talking to tower&GP,no one offered to replace or fix the cowls or pants. however they did say they would pass it along. i think what they was saying was----passing the buck-- thanks harold

I suspect you didn't get the wrong colors. That's just the way they are. Mine are off a little bit, but not something that really stands out. The stock cowl is a good fiberglass unit. May be a little thin, but perfectly workable. If anything, use it till it breaks.

Well, the pieces that came with my plane almost exactly matched "true red" monokote-unfortunately, the plane has "missile red" trim, and the color doesn't even come close to matching. I didn't mind sending my $80 in for some replacements to fiberglass specialties because the pieces that I got from them were the BEST i've seen in quite a while.
I painted them with monokote matching "missile red" and now they match EXACTLY.
