Hi
Has anybody already seen one of these?

It's BH-101 and they call it "Landscape" but it looks like a Cessna Corvalis TTX to me.
What do you guys think?
Regards
Andi

Hi
Yes, it is a Corvalis TT.
Look what i found on Airliners.netwww.airliners.net/photo/Cessna-LC-41-550FG-400/1778612/M/
Maybe BH calls it "Landscape" because of some reserved rights trouble.
Wingspan is 76,38 in. lenght 66,93 in. and weight 12.8 lbs.
I am consideringof getting one. Its got scale hinges, flaps an overall wood constructionand is out of the "Masterpiece" series.
The complete cockpit section is removeable for access to the battery pack if powerd with a motor.
A very nice plane.
Anybody noticed it, yet?
Any experiences?

Hi
The kit arrieved a few days ago.
Overall building and woodquality is good and i would give itaB to C rating.
The accessories like screws and attachment parts are a clear F.
Most auf the parts of the landing gear even show corrosion. Thenew designed "professional" control horns are limp and i tend to exchange them.
Unfortunately i had some bad luck with the wing panels. They where of poor qualitiy and i was obliged to return them and get them changed.
Honestly i wonder what the asian manufacturer thinks when shipping a kit like that. We have to pay 380€ (500$) here in Germany for this kit and get
only ****. Flaps and Ailerons that have a lot of play in all directions, a flap that is misaligned (left gap = 1/8, rigt gap =0) and touches the aileron at each movement cycle,a wing panel with atrailing edge that had obviusly beencut without useing a straight edge, corroded metal gear parts...
For 500 bucks this kit should just be perfect.
From the current point of view i cannot recommend it.
I will post some pics as soon as my wings panels arrive.

I have just purchased one of these. Although the paint scheme on that Corvallis looks similar the BH models is a Lancair. Note the difference in the landing gear, it is not swept forward. I'll check back and report the quality of my kit when it arrives. I do like the color scheme they chose it should be very visible in the air.

Hi Ian
I have one, I didn't find the problems with mine that were previously posted. I do feel the fuselage tail section could be better protected for shipping. I think I was just lucky because it did not break. I am also thinking of using the DLE 30, the directions look like that is what they used. My 30 is in the Ryan 120 right now. If I remember right you also had a Ryan 120. I will have to check on measurements for you. It does look like a quick build. Overall I'm happy with the plane, had a GP Lancair a few years back I like this one much better!

Hi Handyman 220,thanks for the reply, yes i still have the Ryan and its still going strong, it does look like they are using a DLE 30,it would make life easier if it went straight in.

Give me some time to look into the DLE 30. The destruction s show it mounted at 45 degrees, don't know why they wouldn't mount it inverted so as to not cut the side of the cowl. I'd rather have the engine head hanging out the bottom. I'll also check the thrust washer measurements.

Hi Ian
I wish I could give you an answer on the thrust washer distance. As far as I can tell you engineer the cowl mounting to suit your engine choice. There is no reference at all to distance from the firewall. My DLE 30 is in the Ryan right now so measuring using it isn't an option. It does look like you can position the cowl wherever you need it. The instructions do say to to position the cowl on the marks you made on the fuselage, but there is no reference to where or why?? [X(] As I said before overall I'm very happy with the plane, I'd guess that 20 hours would get it ready to fly, and I build real slow.

Hi Paul, thanks for looking.I was a bit puzzled with the bit about the cowl and the so called marks that you have supposed to have done.still it does look a straight forward and a fairly quick build.i will get mine ordered this week even though i said im just flying this year and not building anything else as ive only just finnished my ASM Cessna and only flew it once, but i seen tthis and thought ive got a DLE30 doing nothing so here we go again.

I bought mine when it was on sale for $379, I am more than happy with the plane. Getting it $100 cheaper was icing on the cake. It is going to be a very quick build, I just have too many others started to put this one together yet.

I'm on the other side of the US.I'm on east coast in Hartford Connecticut. I'm sure you have heard of Pratt and Whittney, they made WWII engines. The MFG plant is in my backyard. we had a club many years ago that was allowed to fly off the old runways(good old days). I'm not sure when I'll start the Landscape, I've got a BH Corsair and a Hangar 9 Taylor Craft 20 I'm trying to get ready to fly right now. My BH Ryan 120 is collecting dust right now,I will get back to it eventually.

The widest point at the top sides of the cowl is approx. 10'' narrowing down at the bottom to about 8''. From top to bottom is approx. 7.5'' with about 11'' from front of the cowl to the back edge. Hope this is enough info for you to see if the OS 160 twin will fit. Should look awesome if it does!

Handyman 220,
The width dimensions you gave me, were they at the front of the cowl or the back? Looking at the pictures it appears the cowl narrows some at the front. I need at least 8" inside at the front of the cowl to fit the OS twin in the cowl. Thanks again for your help.</p>

The dim. were at the back. The front is a little over 4 1/8'' from the center of the cut out for the prop shaft. I think the 160 will fit, but it is real close to say for sure. Let me know if I can help with any other dims.

Ian Haven't started mine yet. I have too many others I've started that are ahead of it. I just received the giant scale TF Corsair ARF, what a beautiful plane. TF has out done themselves again!
