Does anyone make ARC (NOt ARF) planes anymore???
Does anyone make ARC planes these days? It seems like everything is either a kit or ARF. Anyone here know of some or could provide me a list of ARC manufacturers? I like to cover but don't care for building. Any help appreciated

hi
there isnt that many out there, what i do for some who want to have there own design is get a arf and recover it, pull away the covering slowly add a little heat where needed and some acidtone for the glue left over but be careful acidtone will lossen the glue jounts too so uses lightly and when the plane is open you could add triststock to the landing gear and other spots to make it stronger and balsa blocks for the hinges if you are going to use robart hinges

I do not remember the the name of the place but there is one in Michigan that has a couple of ARC models. I will see if I can find the name and contact info.

Hi,
You can buy a nice old classic pattern plane "Marabu" (for .60 glow or 50 seize electric motor) from Switzerland as ARC:
http://www.giezendanner-technik.ch
It is more expensive to buy as ARC then ARF for some reason.

That's what I do sooner or later.
I'm picking up a World Models 1/5 J-3 Cub AFR today & it will probably be stripped before I do anything. I want to cover it W/Solartex, mount a Top Notch Kits scale Continental engine on the cowl & add Few more scale touches.
It depends on if the hinges are glued or not. (it says "preinstalled" hinges) If they aren't glued it would make little sense to glue the hinges if I plan to recover it soon. If they are glued, I may fly it & wait for winter to do the recover IF the OEM covering looks OK.
