Has anyone been able to properly seal their canopy on their SE? If so, how did you do it without making it look sloppy? I have a small gap on the LE of my canopy and I am looking for a way to seal it, but silicone just looks horrible.....
also, is it normal for the fuel tank to shift during flight? Mine keeps sliding backwards a bit until the fuel lines stop it. should i just add more foam?

I put a small balsa brace behind my tank to stop it from shifting, I haven't had any problems.
I sealed my canopy with canopy glue, not sure of the brand name. To attach the canopy I cut the covering, approx 1/8". I ironed on a bit of covering at low temperature at the edge of the canopy to hide the bare wood, and to provide a better seal. If you do this make sure you test the iron temperature on a piece of scrap canopy first.
I have also read that you can just lightly sand the covering and attach the canopy with the special canopy glue - I haven't tried that.

try formula'560' by pacer. it's a canopy glue that is great for attaching a canopy to iron on covering, and best of all it dries clear.
used it on several planes, and on large gassers, really does a good job
