I have a creek katana and the canopy seems to be shrinking every time I take it to the field.
I called creek and asked if they can do anything for me. and they told me I can buy a new one for 25.00. They told me they have not had any problems with the canopys on there planes and there is nothing the can do except sell me a new one.
My brother has the same plane and his canopy is fine but mine looks black compared to his.
This thing has gotten so small it pushed my pilot through the floor.
I think I will make my own canopy for the plane as I dont think I should have to pay 25.00 for a defect.
Does anyone have any issues with the creek products?
If I cant get this taken care of I will never buy another thing from them.

Sorry to say, but doesn't sound like a defect. Are you leaving plane in sun at the field between flights, without covering the canopy? If so, that is what has caused this. The sun will heat a canopy up in no time, and shrink it just like shrinkwrap. I suggest buying another canopy, and taking an old small blanket with you to the field to cover your canopy with while plane sits in the pits between flights.

Sure as heck sounds like a defect to me. I have owned dozens of aircraft with plastic canopies, that have all sat in direct sun for many hours for many weekends, and never had any kind of shrinkage or warping problems on any of them. It simply should not be an issue. Sounds like a plastic material formula issue with the original canopy.
Maybe try to find a generic replacement canopy from Great Planes or Sig?

I have a canopy off a 1/4 cap that I use for a helmet between flights and it is white, so I still dont buy that as a answer.
I also have 1/4 inch holes drilled in it so the air can escape and like I said my brother has the same plane and his is not shrinking.
Thanks for the replys
