Just wondering if any of you guys could help me out, I've been considering the SeagullMXSR but can't decide on what engine to fit, I'm worried that a 20cc motor may not be enough and that trying to cram a 30cc in would cause problems with Weight, Cowl Fitting and Prop Clearance, has anyone had experience of this airframe who would care to make the decision for me
Engine will probably be either Mintor 22cc or 33cc
Thanks in advance
Jame

Hello Jame,
I'm not expert but I was debating about getting which plane. I decided to get Sea Fury, then thought I'd get Edge 540 120 or 180 but the guy at my LHS told me to go with MXS-R. This plane would go good with 20cc or Mintor 22cc IMO. I ain't no expert, it's my second gas plane, my first gasser is Yak 54 120 from nitro planes with DLE20 on it. It's still breaking in.
I think 30cc for MXS-R is gonna be an over-kill unless somebody here says otherwise.
BTW, the motor I'm gonna install on my MXS-R is XYZ 20cc from Valley View RC. I don't know if XYZ is available in UK or not. I have not started assembling my plane, I'm waiting on my motor, and it's gonna be a tough part how to install a cowl on an inverted gas motor.
Good luck \
