Default Flyzone Beaver

Has anybody tried out this Flyzone DHC-2 Beaver ? I seems like quite the deal...It comes with wheels and floats , flaps , it has a neat lite set up with strobs and position lites landing lites etc. I think I would ditch the tactic recicver and install one of my spektrum 6 channel recievers...The wings are a bit of a pain in the butt to remove but I think I could transport it with the wings on...I like that better when it possible...Its just over $200.00 with out the radio...I think it a great deal...My buddy has one but hasent flowen it yet..We still have a bit of snow...

It's a great flying plane! I can't wait for the lakes to open up so I can have some more fun with the Beaver!!! Keep the Tactic receiver and get yourself the new Tactic TTX650 transmitter - looks to be a great deal at $149.00!

I have had one since last September and love it! I have flown it from land and water and the plane flies great. Lights look very good on a late evening low fly by. I ditched the rx and installed a Spektrum RX and I am using 2200 mah 3s bateries. Wings are a pain to remove, I just leave mine together for transport. I did end up replacing the EZ style connectors they have on the control surfaces after one just poped off, other than that the plane is box stock. Get one, you won't regret it.

Thanks lomcevac540T Thats what I plan to do....I dont need another Radio...I already have some Spektrum recievers.so I will swap one out ..I understand the wings are a bit of a pain to remove anyway and it should fit in my truck assembled so I plan on leaving it together as much as possible. I think it will probably stay on floats most of the time too...My Plane just arrived this morning....

I have had a lot of fun with mine. It flies great off of water. I like flying it in the early evening when the wing is calm and you can see the lights. I almost lost it when the elevator ez connect came undone. It was actually pretty stable, cause the elevator was stuck in a very slightly up position. I had skipped the thread lock when I originally hooked it up. now it has quite a bit of it on. I replaced the receiver with a Hobby King FASST clone so I could use my transmitter.

Have fun,

Dave

I had a great time with the Beaver. The Maiden was a bit wild because I had too much control throws but I dialed it down a bit and the next flight was much more relaxing...This is a neat little plane . The flaps work great..I am looking forward to trying it out on floats..I think it will look pretty neat with the lites reflecting off the water.. It is a great buy , but I think you need a way to transport it with the wings on because taking them on and off would be a pain in the butt...In my opinion...

When I was assembling I made a silly goof , I didn't get the rudder in the rite spot so when I was setting up the radio the rudder push rod was hitting the back of the seat so I cut it off about 3/8 of an inch ..Of course the rudder would not work and when I took it apart and reassembled it correctly now the push rod is too short ..I had to move the rudder servo back about 1/4 inch so the push rod would catch....Silly me...I should have knowen that something was wrong when the push rod was hitting the seat...
