Hey Guys,
Was wondering if anyone has made any modifications on the horn mount points of the elevators. The instructons say to mount the supplied horns to the inner leading edge corner which is made of balsa. This gives you about 1 mm of wood on either side of the horn bolts. Even though the horn has a backer plate on the top side of the elevator, it doesn't seem like there is enough "beef" for the horn bolts on a "3D machine"? What do you guys think ?? Thanks!!

I have built 2 of these as the instructions say and I have not had any problems with them.

By the way, I am tugging mine around with a BME 50 if that gives you any idea of the stress those horns are under.

The area for the elevator horns are way to small, I ended up removing a piece of covering to reveal that area, and I beefed it up with some ply giving it more area to sit on. Daz...

Just opened up my first elevator and found that at least they capped the attaching balsa with a 3/16" piece of what appears to be pine. I added a piece of pine about an inch long. That should do it! Thanks for the suggestion Daz!
