Default 30cc Sbach - who makes them?

Boy am I getting confused about all the 30cc aerobatic planes being advertised...for example the Sbach - I see RedWing has one, as does Gold Wing and Fly Models....they all look exactly the same at first glance - but are there differences - aren't they? I noticed they are priced differently - and does the cost reflect the quality or the supplied hardware? Anyone care to comment?

I have the same questions! I am really interested in the Fly Model Sbach or maybe the Yak55... My main problem is I cannot seem to locate any Assembly threads (Kits are Builds) and just as important, reviews or at least a flight report... I saw a video of the HK one and it is very impressive! I am also VERY interested to know if I can make an OS 1.60 work instead of the 30cc as I have a new one here ready to go. As of today, I have cash in hand to buy one and don't really know where or what to buy. I might just pull the trigger on the Fly Models Sbach or the YAK55, I like them both!... Good Luck to us

Pilot RC makes the SBACH in several sizes, including 30cc. There's a build thread at http://www.***********s.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=58378

I have the Sbach 300 from Fly Models on the bench right now and plan on doing some sort of 'review' of it. The quality looks good right now - but it is sitting on the bench and not being stressed by doing all sorts of maneuvers

One word of caution - they offer only one manual for their ENTIRE line of planes. Not a biggie for me because I've been around the block a few times but it might un-nerve a newbie.

Cool Tailskid!!!! I am really liking that kit!!!! I still wonder if the OS 1.60 (27cc) glow motor would be a good match... Yeah I would rather run a Dle30cc or better yet a DA 30cc but I have this one... I look forward to your ASSEMBLY thread... cant call am ARF a build thread...

I think you would be under powered with an OS 1.60 on any 30cc size plane. It will fly it, but performance will be affected.

On my Fly-Models Sbach30cc I've decided to replace the supplied hinges for Robart as the supplied ones seem to be on the 'light' size. AND one of them was already broken

Not inany way to be argumentative... but the DLE and OS have virtually the exact same specs on power DLE 3.7 hp @8,500 vs OS 3.7hp@9000 very similar props used etc. I would prefer the gas over glow for the cost of running and the obvious better location options for fuel tank etc. I was mainly wondering about the OS and fitting into the cowl more than power comparisons. The only big negative I see is where to put the stock muffler on the OS unless I can get a Bison or similar "Pitts" muffler for the OS. I have a brand new OS just sitting here... I have seen the OS in action on similar weight and size airplanes and it is by no means a slouch on power, it is a torque beast! I am also looking at the YAK55 so fitting any engine in that huge cowl should be no problem but the Sbach is so sleek! I will buy one or the other on the 1st (pay day) and was needing input... You seem to have a fair amount of gas engine experience though. I will likely buy the airplane and just fit check to see if it is do-able, if not I will buy a DLE 30 or maybe try one of the AMR 30 DLE clone engines, I have a sweet DLE 20 and love it. Thanks for the input.

Default Mufflers/Canisters

If you go with a DLE 30....go instead with the DLE35RE as it will save you on muffler - it comes with one - and if you desire a canister muffler in your future, it will make life a LOT easier
