Default Engine Mount Placement

Aloha again RCU Modellers,

I am building a glow powered ARF and have a question about the placement of the engine mounts. I plan on mounting a Magnum four stroke, .70 size engine sideways.
My question is should I align the engine mounts perfectly parallel to each other or stagger them to better distribute the weight over a larger area? Attached are mach-up photos of what I am describing. The placement of the mounts is approximate and are only to illustrate my example. Thanks!

it will depend upon where you would like the orientation of the muffler and access to the glow plug. You'd probably be fine with a vertical alignment, muffler should be under the plane with the cylinder head on the side.

hope this helps.

Personally, I could be wrong, but with every model I have ever assembled, I have always placed the motor mounts parallel and evenly spaced. I have never seen anybody stagger a motor mount, as you have in your picture.

The "stagger" plan is not going to allow the mounting tabs on the engine to sit flat on the mounts. Distributing the weight not necessary anyway.
