Any ideas on for a plane for the YS-63 that is IMAC/IMAA compatible? I like to err on the power side and, unless I'm mistaken. I'm not seeing anything really...
Thanks

Bob;
Anything in the 5-7Lb class will be wonderful with the YS 63. Unlimited performance in 3D/Precision aerobatics the Majestic by Kyosho is excellent. Sport Scale the Hirobo 330L or Sukhoi have unlimited vertical with a 12 X 7 APC. There are so many aircraft in this weight range you shouldn't have any problems finding the one that suits you. I'll look for others that have peaked my interest and email you what I find if you like.

No Ben the Darn snow came in this weekend and it's so depressing! I've been cleaning the shop and setting up the ZDZ 40 to break in.
But I am going to try something like I did with the 63 is put the OS91 Pipe and YS 91 Muffler without the baffle on the YS 53 to see what the RPM changes are. So I can tell Chad Northeast.

Thanks Jack - have the Majestic now and love it - was wanting to look for something IMAC qualified. Looked for the Hirobe you mention but can't find anything on it...
Thanks for looking for me and I woudl appreciate anything you may come up with.

I'll keep looking, BTW Hirobo kits are extremly nice ARF's. But don't use the tanks that come with them for YS engines.

I just love the combination of the YS .63 in my 40 sized GP CAP 232 (not to be confused with the GP ARF CAP 231EX). With a 13 x 6 APC and 25 to 30% Nitro....whoooooie!
If one HAS to arf it, I have also been watching a guy at our field fly the small Yellow Aircraft CAP 232 with a Saito .56. The little Saito pulls it with Authority (the plane is a great flyer with no bad habits I've seen) and the YS .63 ought to be just about insane enough in this one to be fun!

Stick an APC 12 X 7 on it and crank the R's up to 12+. You want to see what a YS63 will do with a OS 91 header and a YS 91FZ muffler with the baffle removed does?

The Kyosho Cap 232 ARF is an outstanding performer with the YS 63! Plenty of power for this bird. If you keep your radio installation light this is one 3D capable bird! Also flies precision maneuvers as well as anything in this size. And its cheap!

Scorpionjack,
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to give the 12 x 7 a try the next time I have the plane out. I have already pulled the baffle out of the stock YS .63 muffler, but I will have to see if the space on my plane will allow a larger header and muffler without extensive surgery. As it is, the stock muffler is totally inclosed in my cowl and up against the firewall.
Thanks again,
Lee

Lee the OS 91 Header is a bent header so it will move the muffler more to the inside center of the firewall. If you angle it just right it should exhaust out at about the center of the cowls lower opening.
Being the YS Header is straight you should have no problem staying in your current configuration.
